Community Health Education
Our Goal
Calloway County Health Department strives to change the public’s health one person at a time through community health education on specific health topics and establishing community partnerships to work together to make Calloway County a healthier community.
HALT: Health and Lifestyle Training Programs
CCHD is now offering HALT cohorts to collaborate with individuals who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes . HALT is an innovate program which focuses on the root causes of chronic disease instead of managing the symptoms. The program’s success is centered around a prevention-focused strategy, community-centered models, and behavioral change interventions. HALT is an application based program available on any smartphone. Once a participant enters a program, a lifestyle change coach helps to educate them on nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness while utilizing evidenced-based interventions.
Interested in participating in the HALT Diabetes Prevention Program? The next cohort begins in January 2026. Select the Contact Us link at the top of the page to begin your HALT journey!
